Admission Policy
St. Anthony School is a Catholic, parish elementary school educating students in grades Pre-K to 8. Admission is non-discriminatory on the basis of race, sex, national origin and age (in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts).
The acceptance policy is as follows:
School families are accepted first.
Registration is then opened to parish families.
If space remains available, it is then opened to the public.
The enrollment number is determined by School Board policy.
Requirements for New Students (Grades 1-7)
New students wishing to enter grades 1-7 are required to provide a recent report card, participate in an interview with the principal and tour the school. A letter of recommendation from a recent teacher is needed at this interview, also. Parents are requested to grant permission to the administration to contact the child's former school to speak with the principal, guidance counselor or previous teachers. Acceptance into these grades is contingent upon our ability to serve the academic needs of the student. Should a child be seeking transfer from another parochial school, all financial obligations must be met at the previous school before being considered for acceptance at St. Anthony School. New applicants for grades 1-7 are required to complete a registration form and the request for transcripts. A non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of application.
Requirements for New Applicants (Pre-K & Kindergarten)
All new applicants for Pre-K and Kindergarten are required to complete a registration form and provide immunization records, a birth certificate and a baptismal certificate, if applicable. Kindergarten students are required to pass a screening. A non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of application.
For students under the direction of an IEP or a 504 plan
A student seeking acceptance into St. Anthony School who is under the direction of an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan is mainstreamed. Adaptations, within reason, are made on an individual basis.
Important Note
The parents of a child with a severe learning disability are informed that the school does not have the services available to meet their child's needs.
